rewind to easter

The celebration of Easter is easily becoming one of my favorite holidays. As an adult I appreciate the meaning of Easter so much more and enjoy the festivities with a giant grateful heart. We went to the Easter Pageant at the Temple and I thoroughly enjoyed it. My kids watched the whole thing with eyes wide open. Byron didn't want to meet Jesus because he was scared, then he was terrified during the crucifixion because "those guys were being mean to Jesus and I love Him" (talk about melting a mother's heart), and then he was very confused that the Easter Bunny didn't have a part in the play. We are working on all that true meaning of Easter stuff...next year.

We didn't dye eggs this year (and no, I am not anti-commercialism for religious holidays). I am blaming pregnancy for that slip-up...along with a lot of other things.

But we did have Easter brunch at Granny's house complete with an egg hunt. I brought my Sausage and Spinach Bread Pudding and it was super yum. I will be sharing that recipe with you soon.

When my dad notices that a camera is pointed at him--this is what he gives me:

And there was a lot of squishing baby Colt's face, naturally:

But the boy is loved so don't worry too much about all the squishing.

Easter would not be complete without a little candy hiding in inconspicuous places.

We did go to church (although I left early because I was on the verge of meltdown town).

And thanks to my mom, I did manage to get a few pictures of my children in their new Sunday clothes.

And we had the ham and cheesy potato dinner with the in-laws where I failed to take any pictures. But I have forgiven myself for that because this post is busting at the seems with pictures anyway.

Adios Easter. See you again next year. At that point this baby will be out of my body and I will welcome you with open arms and massive amounts of excitement and energy. Promise.
